Les 2 Alpes
Ski & resorts
Half an hour from Le Cosy Lodge, Les 2 Alpes is the big neighbouring resort: a ski area rising from 1,300 to over 3,500 m, with the Mont-de-Lans glacier reached in about twenty minutes from the village on the Jandri 3S cable car. In winter you can ski from late November to early May, and the high-altitude snow then holds until the end of May. Even if you don't ski, going up to 3,200 m as a pedestrian is well worth it for the views of La Meije and the Écrins.
- Summer
- High-altitude / glacier skiing 2027: spring skiing announced from 3 to 30 May, then the glacier is reserved first for professional groups and clubs until 4 July (check public access and opening times on les2alpes.com; in 2026 the glacier was open from 8am to 12.30pm, morning skiing only).

Les 2 Alpes tourist office (Maison des 2 Alpes), 4 Place des 2 Alpes, 38860 Les Deux Alpes
For spring and summer skiing, go up as soon as the lifts open, as the snow softens quickly by late morning; bring sun cream, goggles and winter clothing, even in June.
Venosc gondola
Ski & resorts
The Venosc gondola takes you in under 10 minutes from the car-free village of Venosc, deep in the Vénéon valley, up to the resort of Les 2 Alpes, perched at 1,650 m. Open to walkers, skiers and mountain bikers in both summer and winter, it's the easiest way up to the resort from Le Bourg-d'Oisans, with no hairpin road and no parking hassle. At the top you'll find the foot of the slopes, the trails and the terraces of the Alpe de Venosc; at the bottom, the village's lanes of craft workshops and, in summer, the Tuesday morning market.
- Summer
- Daily from 7am to 8pm in July-August (6 July to 30 August in 2026).
- Winter
- 2026-2027 season: 28 Nov to 18 Dec from 7am to 6.15pm; 19 Dec to 1 Jan from 6.45am to 7.30pm; 2 Jan to 5 Feb from 7am to 7.30pm.

No booking: tickets from the ticket office or the machines at the foot of the gondola in Venosc and at the top station, or online at skipass-2alpes.com (the resort's official ticketing). Information on +33 4 76 79 75 01.
Bottom station: in the heart of Venosc village, next to the tourist information office (355 route de Bourg), Les Deux Alpes, 38520 Venosc. Bottom station GPS: 44.9876, 6.1161. Top station: Alpe de Venosc, 38860 Les Deux Alpes. Not to be confused with the “Super Venosc” gondola, a ski lift inside the resort.
From Le Cosy Lodge, about 15 minutes on the flat D530 to Venosc: park in the village at the foot of the gondola rather than driving up to Les 2 Alpes, where parking is paid and always full, check the time of the last ride down before you go up, and bring an extra layer, as it's noticeably cooler at 1,650 m.
